Macro Friday--Spider Web

I took this shot on Monday and had to wait all week for Macro Friday!  It was torture!  (You may have to click on it and make it larger to get the full effect of the photo).

Program AE with Macro Mode, f 4, 1/60, ISO 80

I admit, I cheated a bit when I took this picture.  I tried and tried to get the web but I couldn't see it in the photos because it was too bright outside and there wasn't enough contrast.  I finally got a water bottle with a fine mist sprayer and misted the spider web to make it show up a little more.  I was then able to get some shots of the web.
I tried to get some shots of the spider in the web at night but my lighting was all off and I couldn't stand to be that close to the spider to get it correct.  I HATE spiders!

This is awesome! Thanks for sharing that you misted it - I always seem to have trouble getting shots of webs, so I'll have to try your tip next time!! :)

I never thought of misting a web before - thanks for the tip. I thought I was going to have to wait until the frosts came before I could get a good shot of a web.

Yours is great. Ok is it just me and my eyes but when I enlarged it I couldn't see a spider........ maybe it was just as well that I didn't. lol

Great shot! It is worth enlarging to get the full effect. The pattern o the web is different from the one I have been looking at. Interesting.

Rosie, I couldn't get the spider in this shot. I tried to get it at night but the lighting was all off. I took this picture in the morning and the spider was hiding.

sometimes we have to use some tricks to get a great capture:)

I have to say thank you for GIMP tutorials, I downloaded the programme some time ago but it looked too complicated, but now I can try it again after reading your edit tutorials

Beautiful! I don't know how many times I've taken a bottle of water outside to practice water droplets......it's been a dry summer! Beautiful shot!

I've had many spider web pictures like this. It is hard to find a web where the spider was nice enough to build it where there is a nice background.
