I'm Baaaack...

I miss photography.  Looking back I realize that it's been since November since I've made any major updates to this blog.  I never really meant to give it up.  I just had to back away for a bit.  Excuse me while I ramble as I write this post more for myself than for anyone else.

My "Living In The Moment" post still holds true.  I am taking my camera out less often now and simply enjoying life without having to document every single moment.  If you haven't read that post yet, please do.  It was a real eye-opening time for me.

My Toys In The Dryer blog has taken off way faster and way larger than I EVER expected!  I think I'd still be more into Mommy's Camera if Toys In The Dryer weren't taking up so much time.  That blog, however, has given me more opportunities and has paid me more money than this blog has ever and will ever do.  Mommy's Camera is simply too niche specific.  Plus, I'm still one of those rare (if not the ONLY) photography bloggers who still uses a point and shoot camera.  It's hard to keep up with the big boys/girls!

I miss photography.  That's why I'm writing this post.  I downloaded Instagram for Android today (GASP! I'm actually supporting cell phone camera use, and YES!  I finally got a smart phone!).  While I was playing around with it (see my first photos in this post) I realized that I miss photography.  I miss seeing the world through a photographers eyes.  I've been back to seeing it through a mom's eyes and while I love it, part of me still wants those fantastic shots of the world.

This blog is my space.  I think one of the main reasons I left is because this blog became more about writing tutorials and getting the perfect shot for other people, not for myself.  It got overwhelming and it wasn't fun any more.  From now on, I'll be writing on Mommy's Camera for myself.  I'm going to take the photos I want, write the tutorials I want, and do it on my time, just the way I started out.  I've taken down my advertising and I'm going to quit worrying about having to write every week.  I won't make excuses for not posting because I don't have to have any.  It's my blog.  If other people choose to gain knowledge from it, so be it.  I'm writing it however, for my own knowledge and no one else.
